Patricia Pleasants Lawler Joins the North Carolina Community Foundation
Wilmington – Patricia Pleasants Lawler, President of Lawler Consulting in Wilmington, has been named southeastern regional associate at the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF). In her new role at the Foundation, Lawler will promote philanthropy, working with individuals and agencies to establish permanent endowment funds for charitable giving. She will also provide staff support to NCCF-affiliated community foundation boards in eight southeastern counties including Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Duplin, Onslow, Pender, Robeson, and Sampson.
Prior to joining the NCCF, as president of her own consulting firm, Lawler focused on management, advocacy and fundraising support for nonprofit and charitable organizations. She has extensive experience in both the government and nonprofit sectors.

Before moving to Wilmington in March 2007, Lawler was the Senior Legislative Assistant to US Congressman Bob Etheridge and earlier, in the NC General Assembly, served as Special Assistant for Research in the office of House Majority Leader Phil Baddour.
Lawler sits on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Cape Fear Region Chapter, and chairs the government relations and newsletter committees. She also serves on the Financial Development Committee of the Cape Fear Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Lawler is a native of Cary and she has both a B.A. and M.A. from North Carolina State University.
