To support long-term recovery, address unmet needs and build community resilience and preparedness for future disasters in western NC, donate to the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund.
The Disaster Relief Fund provides grants to eligible organizations supporting long-term recovery in western North Carolina.
With deep concern for our western NC communities, we moved quickly in September 2024 to activate our Disaster Relief Fund after Hurricane Helene. We were heartbroken about the loss of life and devastation due to the storm, but we have been uplifted by support for the fund.
Contributions to the fund total $33 million, and nearly $22 million has now been awarded to support Hurricane Helene recovery. Additional grantmaking will continue over the coming months and years. Learn more about how the fund is supporting western North Carolina.

In December 2024, former Governor Roy Cooper announced that donations of $15.5 million made to the Governor’s Disaster Relief Fund would go to NCCF’s Disaster Relief Fund.
